Hypothecation Removal for Car in Telangana state

I am sharing my experiences for removal of Hypothecation from Car Registration Certificate. This was done in Kukatpally RTA (Unit Office), Hyderabad in August 2016 and most probably should be the same across other RTA offices in the state.

Documents Required:

1. Covering Letter Issued by the Financier (Optional)
2. NOC (signed and Stamped by Financier) - one which is addressed to RTO. NOC can also be referred as No Dues Certificate.
(NOC is generally valid for 3 months from the data of issue. Please check the validity on the NOC.)
3. Form 35 in duplicate (signed and Stamped by Financier). Ensure to put Owner Sign in Form 35.
4. Loan Account Statement (signed and Stamped by Financier)
5. Original RC Certificate (put in a small transparent cover)
6. Insurance Certificate (photocopy)
7. Pollution Under Control Certificate (photocopy)
8. ID and Date of Birth Proof (photocopy) duly signed by the Applicant.
9. To be on safer side, take the Originals of all the photocopy documents.

Documents Gathering:

Within 20 days of last repayment of Loan EMI, got the below through post:
1. Covering Letter mentioning details of the Closure of Loan and below attachments.
2. Two NOCs (printed on the same page) - one to RTO and other to Insurance.
3. Form 35 (Two copies printed on the same page.)

4. Took a photocopy of all the above 3 documents. (For a record, as the Originals will be handed over at the Counter)

5. Requested for Loan Account Statement through Email and got the PDF within 2 Working Days.
6. Have taken the following for proofs - ID = Aadhaar, DOB = PAN.

Process:

1. Booked an online slot for Hire Purchase Termination (required for all RTA Telangana services from 2-Aug-2016).

2. Paid the required fee through mee seva (online payment can also be done after slot booking).

3. Kukatpally RTA (Unit Office) - Went to Counter 2 and submitted the documents and he handed over a receipt and asked to take photo in next counter.
4. In the next counter - Photo, Signature and Finger Print, are taken.

5. That is it. Received new RC within 10 days through post.
6. Ensure to check the details and removal of Hypothecation on the back side.

Hypothecation Removal from Car Insurance Policy:

1. After receiving your new RC, contact your Insurance Agent or Customer Care for Hypothecation Removal in Insurance Certificate.
2. Mostly, you would be required to send an E-Mail with your Policy number and scanned copy of your new RC.
3. Within 10 days you should be getting copy of Endorsement Receipt of Removal of Financier to your E-Mail.
4. Carry this receipt along with your Insurance papers.
